1862 Mr Watson sold his interest, Mr Nichols' interest bought after his death in 1866 by John L Cheney, an associate of William H Parker's for 18 yrs.  Then buying Cheney's interest and renaming the firm as Wm. H. Parker & Sons 731 Dutton Street.

He was a Republican Lowell council, aldermen, legislature, insurance, board of overseers for poor.
Director of First National Bank Lowell for 30 years.
President of Parker Mills and Hargraves Mills Fall River.

The Parker and Cheney Co.

In the Pingree mill on Middle street in Lewiston Maine near the upper Depot.
The Co. started in Lowell, Massachusetts over 70 years ago. Wm (William) II Parker reorganized the Co. and named it Wm II Parker & Sons. Sold it around 1900. George (Geo.) E. Parker worked there with his father from a very young age. He was responsible for purchasing the Pingree Mill in Lewiston, Me.
Purchased May 16th of 1907. He was the finacial backer for his four sons: Harry J., Everett N., Herbert L., and Clarence A.,. They were know to be very prestigious, educated business men and more than capable to run this venture.
The Pingree Mill was 196 ft length, 60 wide, 3 stories high and powered by 125 horsepower, steam. will employ 200-300 local workers.

Machinery being made for this new locations used many of the inventions and adaptations of the Parker's.
Harry J is to head the Co.
